Overview
ConnectX-8 doubles per-port bandwidth over ConnectX-7 to 800 Gb/s on XDR InfiniBand and supports NDR, HDR and earlier speeds. On Ethernet, NVIDIA lists 400, 200 and 100 GbE for the C8180. It plugs into PCIe Gen6 x16 and is backward compatible with Gen5, with an optional auxiliary card for Socket Direct and Multi-Host.
It is crypto and secure-boot enabled and needs server airflow. Dual-port QSFP112 Ethernet models are separate SKUs (C8240, 900-9X81Q-00CN-ST0, and C8220, 900-9X81Q-00CV-ST0).
Typical uses
- GPU scale-out networking
- Quantum-X800 InfiniBand clusters
- Spectrum-X Ethernet AI fabrics
