The Juniper EX3400-48P (part number EX3400-48P) is a 1RU campus access switch with 48 10/100/1000BASE-T PoE+ ports, four 1/10GbE SFP/SFP+ uplinks and two 40GbE QSFP+ ports. Its 920 W supply gives a 740 W PoE+ budget, rising to 1440 W with a second supply, which makes it a fit for wiring closets serving access points, phones and cameras.

Overview
The EX3400-48P switches at wire speed with 336 Gbps of bidirectional capacity and 250 Mpps throughput. All 48 ports support 802.3af PoE and 802.3at PoE+ at up to 30 W, with static and class-based power modes and LLDP-MED power negotiation. The switch ships with one power supply; a second redundant, field-replaceable supply raises the PoE budget.
Up to 10 EX3400 switches can form a Virtual Chassis over the uplinks; the 40GbE ports are preconfigured as Virtual Chassis ports. It supports IEEE 802.1AE MACsec on its GbE and 10GbE ports and can be onboarded and managed in Juniper Mist Wired Assurance.
Licensing: Standard tier features ship with the Junos image on the switch. Juniper Flex Advanced and Premium licences (Class 3 for 48-port switches, as 3-year or 5-year subscriptions or perpetual) unlock more, and the legacy EX-48-EFL and EX-48-AFL licences cover features such as OSPF and BGP. MACsec needs a separate licence.

Edition and part numbers
EX3400-48T is the non-PoE version with a 150 W supply, and EX3400-24P has 24 PoE+ ports with a 600 W supply (370 W PoE+ budget, 720 W with two). In the US and Canada the EX3400-48P needs the CBL-PWR-C13-US-48P power cord.
